About this space

Townsville Heritage Centre comprises three heritage buildings: the 1888 timber villa 'Currajong' with wide verandahs and period furniture, the 1884 Worker's Dwelling (Townsville's oldest worker's cottage), and a 1921 Farmhouse. The Centre displays Chinese and Japanese artefacts from when Townsville hosted Australia's first Japanese Consulate, and commemorates the building's use as a RAAF Hospital during World War II. Currently not open to the general public; enquire directly for function availability.
